Wabi-Sabi of Sunflowers

Wabi-sabi is a concept in Japanese aesthetics that describes the beauty in the impermanence and imperfection in life. Richard Powell, an Art History professor at Duke says,  "Wabi-sabi nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect."

I have been drawn to decaying and dried sunflowers for years.  Below are a few of my favorite.
